Formed in 1996, Script International Inc. is a consulting group run by experienced professionals from the construction industry. For the past 20 years we have worked on projects in over 30 countries, across four continents, offering an array of services to those trying to improve or start their business. We work with a broad spectrum of clients ranging from major manufacturers and their dealer organizations, to privately owned start-up businesses. Our team consists of highly entrepreneurial leaders that have owned rental companies, equipment dealerships or worked for major manufacturers.
Larry Kaye
A proven leader and second generation rental entrepreneur, Lawrence has 30 years experience in the construction industry. His family owned rental business was listed in Rental Equipment Register’s "Top 50 Rental Companies in US" before it was sold to Rental Service Corporation (RSC). His strong experience in emerging markets has provided him the opportunity to work with business owners and corporate clients in over 30 countries. A former Board member of American Rental Association, Lawrence is a team builder with strong analytical and teaching skills that enable "visions" to become sustainable reality.
Celso Navarro
Celso Navarro has worked with major OEM’s such as Caterpillar, Toyota, and Wacker. A native of Brazil, he is fluent in Portuguese, Spanish and English and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and an MBA. He works with equipment dealers in various international markets that have business development issues, employee training programs and driving operational processes. He joined Script International in 1997 and lead the development of CAT Rental Stores in Brazil. In 2003, Celso joined the Brazilian subsidiary of Multiquip and became sole owner in 2007, leading the rapid development of the Multiquip brand throughout Brazil.
Owen Edwards
Owen Edwards is passionate about the construction equipment industry, especially the rental segment. Because his entire career has been devoted to the industry, he has had the unique opportunity of experiencing what it’s like to be part of a family business, work for a national publicly held rental company and a major construction equipment manufacturer. Rental has been a major focus in all three. Experiencing rental from multiple perspectives gives him an in-depth appreciation of the challenges of each.
As part of a multi-location family rental business he understands the challenges of everyday small business but also the added complexity that comes from employing family and friends. Having held numerous management positions with a national rental company he knows what it’s like to lead, grow and manage multiple locations. Finally, he appreciates the manufacturing industry and the challenges they have in distribution strategies, especially when it comes to rental.
He rejoins the Script International organization after 15 years with the Bobcat Company. In his first stint with Script, Owen worked both nationally and international assisting the Caterpillar organization implement their Cat Rental Store strategy. He now returns to further share the knowledge and experience he has gained since then. He has an in-depth knowledge of the dealership business metrics, rental business metrics as well as the AED Cost of Doing Business. Before retiring from Bobcat, Owen spent years working with dealer principals in succession planning and their strategies in transitioning their businesses to the next generation.
He is a big proponent of connecting with people and building personal relationships to gain a better understanding of the challenges they face. Clearly understanding their challenges is a major step in the process of helping them build a great business strategy.
Owen holds a BS in Marketing from the University of South Alabama.
Raul Alfaro
With over 20 years of experience, Raul Alfaro is a native of Peru and is fluent in both English and Spanish. He holds an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering and an MBA in Business Finance. Early in his career, Raul worked in the Australian manufacturing sector, as head of production for Dylmain. He was also the driving force behind the launch of the Rental Services business for the Caterpillar dealers in Peru, Ferreryos S.A.A. In the Ferreyros organization, he held the positions of Division Sales Manager for Machinery, Equipment and Engines. He has spent the last 10 years as an industry consultant, working with equipment companies entering the Latin American rental market. He has first-hand knowledge of the oil and gas markets within the region having worked with a variety of suppliers to enter these markets.
Rafael Sanz
Service Engineer with over 40 years’ experience working with major OEM’s such as Caterpillar, JCB & JLG. Fluent in Spanish, English and some Portuguese. Always on the Service side supporting Dealers and Customers’ needs with direct influence on equipment repair & maintenance. In-depth knowledge of market segments such as mining, equipment rental and rebuild shops.
Originally joined Script International in 1997 to support the development of CAT Rental Stores in Latin America. Primary focus to establish sustainable processes that would ensure quality control and high fleet utilization. Experienced trainer in all aspects of product support.
Worked until 2016 with Caterpillar Corporation as Service Rep for mining heavy equipment in Chile. Heavily involved with chassis repairs of whole 793F fleet in Chile.
Full-time industry consultant since 2016 across many different industries.
Jose Protko
Jose Protko grew up in a mining camp in the country of Peru and has the equipment construction business in his blood. He is committed to creating value for OEMs and distributors via the equipment rental channel, recently adding technology sales to his background. Having worked in both the US and Latin America, he brings a strong sense of service as the Director of Business Development for Script International. Jose is based in the Miami-Fort Lauderdale area and excels in forging strategic partnerships and driving growth initiatives. His expertise in client relations and market expansion has been instrumental in considerably enhancing the market presence of OEMs, dealers and technology companies.
